| Ann Armstrong |
Born in New York in 1940, Ann graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and from 1971-1974 studied painting with W. Krebs of the Westtown School (Pa.) and D. Curtis of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Among her many commissions, her favorites are portraits of children and the 75 brush and ink drawing for the Chester County (Pa.) Hospital.
Ann lives with her husband, Joe, in an old Quaker Pennsylvania stone farmhouse and works in her studio there. They have two daughters who have families of their own in Chester County, Pa., and Silver Spring, Md. One of her many pleasures of living on a farm is taking early morning walks with her two Labradors and often seeing rabbits, foxes and squirrels which became an inspiration for her bronze sculptures. Her love of gardens and animals made creating masterpieces for the garden a natural blend. Ann places sculpture as an element of surprise among the flowers. She travels with her husband, sails, plays tennis and has a volunteer job on the East Bradford Township Historical Commission as well as hiking in the Adirondacks with her four grandchildren....
