I live and work in Springfield, PA and being an avid gardener, it seems natural that I gravitated toward creating whimsical sculptures for the garden I spend so much of my free time in. I value the process of finding objects, listening to their story and reincarnating them into the creatures they will become. Nature is a profound source of inspiration to me and my work. I am especially inspired by the wonderful rhythm and lines of trees and their branches - they are purposeful with the space they take up.

Camille has been immersed in art, horticulture, and the craft of blacksmithing virtually her entire life. She takes pride in having been able to weave these passions together to make a living. As a child she was a helper and apprentice in her father, Greg Leavitt’s, blacksmith shop, where she learned how to cut leaves out of steel and later hammer them into remarkably lifelike forms which often appear to be growing to the light and turning with the wind.

"I have chosen to work in the traditional, figurative style of sculpture for I feel it is the best vehicle in which to express the natural beauty of the human body. In order to use this approach to my art, I have had to spend numerous years in the intensive study of human anatomy. My favorite subjects are children because of the roundness of their forms and subtle humor of their gestures and positions.
Along with intrinsic structural authenticity, I hope to bring to my sculptures the qualities of sensitivity, dignity, warmth, flowing design, and humanity." - Myra Weisgold
