Preserved eggs were stored in these jars in the last century. This piece shows evidence that there were once lugs attached. Sometimes, the lugs or protuberances were removed intentionally after firing if they were in place soley to move the pieces while in production. If the lug possessed a hole, it was left on to facilitate hanging. Imported from China.
