Many local residents and the former owner of the Oakwell Estate worked tirelessly to save the property from being purchased under eminent domain and used to make sport fields for a local school district. Garden Accents was so lucky to have worked with Mr. Bennett to purchase some of the outdoor treasures before he moved from the property.
As soon as you turned into the driveway on County Line Road in Villanova, as you looked to your left, there stood this grand scale carved marble urn among the plantings and majestic trees. White marble was a great choice to draw your attention to this lovely piece and its plantings.
The Oakwell mansion is exceptional. It is representative of the Gilded Age when industrial giants competed in constructing opulent mansions and fantastic gardens on the Main Line and is filled with Mercer floor tiles. The landscaping of the Oakwell estate is filled with diverse, old, valued trees and shrubs and is surely worth preservation.
