Tucked In Carved Stone Sculpture
When we think of the birds found in Zimbabwe, feathered friends in countless sizes and shapes come to mind. We love this tender sculpture. Skillfully carved by a Shona artist from Zimbabwe (which means “house of stone”),this graceful & elegant sculpture emerged from fruit serpentine stone. The artists work together with their stone and it is believed that ‘nothing which exists naturally is inanimate’- it has a spirit and life of its own. These artists facilitate the fine art that results from their intuitive creativity — that is what the stone is expressing to them. Material is Fruit Serpentine Stone.
